COMMITTEE TO PROTECT FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION

Committee to Protect Freedom of Expression was founded in January 2003 as a on-governmental, not-for-profit journalistic organization.

Committee Mission:

to protect the rights of journalists and media;
to contribute to the establishment and development of free expression in Armenia;
to strengthen the professional solidarity of journalists.

Committee Objectives:

monitoring of the freedom of expression situation in Armenia, tracing and responding to cases of journalists' and media rights violations, preparation and publication of annual reports on the field;
contribution to the improvement of media legislation and its harmonization with European standards;
assistance - through seminars and conferences - to the increase of legal awareness of journalists as well as the formation of media self-regulation system;
development of cooperation among the journalistic associations of the countries of South Caucasus.
